The first battle in Egypt used a new LED lighting device for Uruguay's competition venues, designed to facilitate 4K and UHDTV transmissions and flicker-free super slow motion playback.
The lighting supplier Signify promised billions of television viewers worldwide that the camera will capture "all the details, every sweat, muscle and expression on the court."
LED venue lighting can also be controlled and synchronized with music to create a spectacular pre-competition atmosphere.
In 12 competition venues, Randolph won 10 awards and the other 2 were won by Disano, an Italian manufacturer.
The ten venues that won the bid are: Luzhniki Stadium (Moscow), Christopsky Stadium (St. Petersburg), Fisht Olympic Stadium (Sochi), Yekaterinburg Arena (Yekaterinburg), and Mountain, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd and Samara Stadium.
The two venues awarded by Disano are the venues of Samara and Saransk.
In addition, the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow has installed a spectacular 39,000-square-meter LED media roof. During the competition, a unique light show will be staged to bring fans to the entire city's fans.
